When the chewing gum shrinks you can easily pluck it from the carpet without any hassle. However, if the chewing gum is half chewed and the sugar is still present in it, you need to clean it with a soap enzyme.
This method will always work for chewing gum stains. Nevertheless, there are other methods as well, in case you don’t have access to ice.
Pour some oil on a cloth and then apply it to the chewing gum stain. Now slowly remove the chewing using a knife or sharp edge object. Clean the remaining residue of chewing gum using a detergent. Use oil carefully, or you might end up with an oil stain on your carpet.
Applying solvent will also help in cleaning the chewing gum. Use the solvent on a small area of your carpet to ensure that the solvent is stain free and won’t leave a stain while removing chewing gum from carpet. After testing soak chewing gum with solvent and leave it for 10 minutes. After that remove it using a knife and clean the remaining chewing gum with a soapy solution.
